

His Excellency, the Ambassador of France, Fabian Penone, along with his delegation, visited Indonesian Creative School (ICS) on Thursday, December 4, 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between France and Indonesia. The visit aimed to gain deeper insight into the educational programmes, curriculum, and facilities offered at ICS.
The school extended a warm welcome to His Excellency with opening remarks delivered by the School Director, Rommy Charles Adam, followed by a concise presentation on Indonesian Creative School, its programmes, and its commitment to global education by the Director of Studies, Jason Dawson, reinforcing the ICS motto: “Igniting Minds, Shaping Futures.”
The formal programme continued with a dialogue session led by His Excellency and his representative. Ambassador Penone expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and spoke about the importance of strengthening educational ties between French and Indonesian institutions. He highlighted the potential for collaboration through French cinema screenings with English and Bahasa Indonesia subtitles, as well as opportunities to broaden student mobility programmes to France. Discussions also included the possibility of enhancing ICS’s linguistic offerings through bilingual and trilingual programmes involving French, English, and Bahasa Indonesia.
Further remarks were shared by the Ambassador’s representative regarding the planned expansion of the French military presence in Pekanbaru by 2029, which will include families and children. This development opens valuable opportunities for French students to study at Indonesian Creative School, fostering greater diversity and global engagement within the ICS community.
An appreciation ceremony followed, led by Muhammad Yamin Yahya, Chairman of Laskar Pelangi, who presented a token of appreciation to His Excellency as a gesture of gratitude for his visit.
To conclude the programme, the Ambassador and his delegation were escorted on a guided school tour by ICS student ambassadors and the leadership team. The tour included visits to high school, primary, and early years classrooms, as well as laboratories, libraries, and student showcase areas. The student ambassadors presented with confidence, professionalism, and pride, reflecting the school’s high standards.
The official visit of His Excellency, Ambassador Fabian Penone, marks a meaningful milestone for Indonesian Creative School and is expected to open new avenues for collaboration, academic exchange, and strengthened relations between the two countries.
