The Indonesian Creative School began its journey in January 2009, initially offering kindergarten and elementary levels. Licenses for both levels were obtained from the Department of Education on April 20, 2009. Implementing both the National and Singaporean Curricula, ICS expanded to the junior high school level in July 2010, driven by high demand, rapid development, and parental support.
In 2010, the elementary division of ICS achieved notable success by becoming the first school to conduct the Cambridge Young Learners English program. Two students from its first cohort received the highest honors, earning certificates that exempted them from English Placement Tests and establishing ICS as a Test Center for this examination.
Expanding its educational scope over the years, ICS officially encompassed Preschool (Toddlers, Kindergarten, and Grades 1 and 2), Elementary, and Junior High School levels. In 2012, to accommodate its growing student body, ICS moved to a larger building capable of accommodating hundreds of students from Preschool to Junior High School levels.
In 2013, ICS embarked on its journey into international education by obtaining a license from Cambridge University UK as one of the Cambridge Schools in Indonesia with ID #325. As the only school in Pekanbaru licensed to implement the Cambridge Curriculum from Primary to Secondary levels, ICS offers students the opportunity to undertake the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint for English, Mathematics, and Science at the Primary level, and pursue the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) with a minimum of 6 selected subjects at the Secondary level.
With over a decade of commitment, ICS cherishes each student’s unique journey. With a student body of over 400, the school aims to inspire, support, and motivate students as they embark on their educational journey towards a limitless future.
